Doha: The president of the Palestinian Football Association, Jibril Rajoub, expressed gratitude to the Jordanian sports media outlets for their support of Palestinian sports, particularly football. He noted that this support is indicative of Jordan’s support for Palestine in a number of domains.
This came during Rajoub’s reception at his residence in Doha on Sunday with Khalid Khatatbeh, the head of the Jordan Sports Information Federation delegation to the Asian Cup.
In the recent encounter against the South Korean national team, Rajoub commended the Al-Nashama squad’s performance and wished them luck in the next games.
Rajoub also applauded the Jordanian sports media for covering Palestinian sports news and promoting their achievements, which had a significant impact on the athletes, given that this is not unusual for Jordan and its people.
Khatatbeh, for his part, reaffirmed the eagerness of the Jordanian sports media to back Palestinian sports in every sport, particularly football, to counter the haug
htiness of Israeli occupation and to serve as a distinctive platform for communicating the struggles of the Palestinian people due to the occupation.
