HAMIYEH BOUND FOR LONDON TO REPRESENT LEBANON IN THE MEETINGS OF THE INTERNATIONAL MARITIME ORGANIZATION’S GENERAL ASSEMBLYThird wave of 39 freed Palestinian prisoners arrives in Ramallah

The caretaker Minister of Public Works and Transport, Ali Hamiyeh, left Beirut this morning at the head of a delegation from the ministry bound for London to represent Lebanon in the works of the 33rd session of the General Assembly of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), which will open tomorrow, Monday.

Hamiyeh is scheduled to deliver Lebanon’s speech during the conference, and will also hold a series of meetings with his participating counterparts from various countries of the world, with the aim of confirming Lebanon’s position on the map of global transport corridors and enhancing the role of its ports on the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea and their importance in the maritime transport sector.

The third wave of Palestinian prisoners freed as part of the Hamas-Israel swap landed in downtown Ramallah on Sunday evening, arriving from Ofer Prison in the central West Bank.

Thousands of Palestinians and their families greeted the freed prisoners and saluted Gaza while chanting in support of the resistance.

President of the Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs, Qaddoura Fares, hailed the 39 prisoners released in the third batch of the deal, calling on Israel to liberate all Palestinian prisoners, who number more than 7,000 in Israeli occupation prisons.
