Gaza – Ma’an – Hamas confirmed today, Saturday, its commitment to what it agreed to on July 2, based on the announcement of US President Joe Biden and the Security Council resolution, before its delegation headed to Cairo.
Hamas leader Izzat al-Rishq said, “The movement’s delegation, headed by Khalil al-Hayya, will arrive in Cairo this evening, based on an invitation from the mediating brothers in Egypt and Qatar, to listen to the results of the negotiations that took place in Cairo.”
Al-Rishq said that Hamas confirms its “commitment to what it agreed to on July 2, based on the announcement of US President Joe Biden and the Security Council resolution,” and it also confirms its “readiness to implement what was agreed upon, calling for pressure on the occupation and obligating it to implement that and stop obstructing reaching an agreement.”
On July 2, Hamas submitted its response to the mediators regarding the ceasefire proposal and the prisoner exchange deal, and confirmed its adherence to the necessity o
f reaching a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the entire territory of the Gaza Strip.
Hamas is demanding that the mediators present a plan to implement what it accepted on July 2, based on Biden’s vision and Security Council Resolution 2735, and oblige Israel to do so, instead of entering into new negotiations.
A summit is scheduled to be held in the Egyptian capital tomorrow, Sunday, with the attendance of the head of the Egyptian intelligence service, the Qatari prime minister, the head of the American intelligence service, and the head of Mossad to discuss reaching the deal.
