Gov’t denies laying off employees after adopting digital transformation strategy

The cabinet media center has denied reports claiming that the State is planning to lay off thousands of employees to coincide with the expansion of the application of digital transformation.

In a statement Friday, the media center said that it contacted the Central Agency for Organization and Administration (CAOA) , which totally denied these reports, asserting that they are baseless and bare of truth.

The CAOA, meanwhile, denied the State’s intention to lay off thousands of employees in conjunction with the expansion of the application of digital transformation, the center said, adding that no decisions have been issued in this regard.

The expansion of the application of digital transformation aims to hone the skills of workers in the State’s administrative apparatus, without any dismissal of any of them, it added.

The digital transformation strategy comes in line with the State’s strategy to build the digital capabilities of employees in the administrative apparatus, added the statement.

The statement further said that digital transformation achieves a kind of justice, as it accurately monitors the employees’ performance electronically, ensuring identification of employees’ capabilities.

The media center, meanwhile, urged all media outlets to seek accuracy and objectivity before publishing news, advising them to contact bodies concerned so as to avoid sparking panic among governmental employees.
