The Cabinet’s media center denied news about cutting the exceptional subsidies under the ration card system as of March.

In a statement on Saturday 18/02/2023, the center said that it communicated with the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade, which refuted the news as baseless.

“No decisions were made in this regard,” said the ministry.

The ministry added the exceptional subsidies are still provided in a bid to help the most vulnerable families.

Such reports are meant to disrupt public order and trigger outrage, it said.

It urged all citizens not to be deceived by such reports and to immediately contact the ministry if they have any inquiries
