CAIRO: The seventh edition of the Golden Talents competition, a significant cultural event organized by the Cultural Development Fund and the Balad Association, concluded with an award ceremony at the Egyptian Opera House. The event, which highlights the abilities of children with special needs, was marked by speeches from prominent figures, including Dr Ahmed Fouad Heno, the Minister of Culture, who presented the awards.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr Ahmed Fouad Heno emphasized the importance of nurturing young talents in his speech, highlighting the competition as a celebration of creativity and determination. He expressed the government’s commitment to supporting these young talents, viewing them as vital contributors to the nation’s future. The Minister also announced plans for the next year to expand the event, ensuring broader participation and support for children with special abilities.
Architect Hamdi Al-Sattouhi, who heads the Cultural Development Fund, acknowledged the signific
ance of the event in fostering willpower and resilience among participants. Dr Hadeia Saber, chair of the Balad Association, emphasized the competition’s role in transforming societal perceptions of people with special needs, showcasing their unique talents and potential.
The ceremony, featuring performances by talents with special abilities, included the national anthem, religious chanting by artist Omar Hamada, and several musical acts. Notable performances included “Eyes of the Heart” by Basma Thabet and “My Heart Will Go On” by Bushra Ahmed Fouad, illustrating the diverse range of talents celebrated at the event.
