Cairo: The Cairo ministerial conference to enhance humanitarian response in Gaza will kick off Monday under the patronage of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi. Titled “A Year of Humanitarian Catastrophe in Gaza: Urgent Needs and Sustainable Solutions,” UN Secretary-General António Guterres will attend the Cairo conference, along with ministers and representatives from a number of countries in the Middle East and the world, as well as international organizations and relevant UN agencies.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministerial conference reflects Egypt’s ongoing commitment to its responsibilities toward Arab files, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, and highlights Cairo’s priority in alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. A joint press conference is scheduled to be held by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and UN Secretary-General António Guterres.
