Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Jarwan, President of the Global Council for Tolerance and Peace, strongly condemned Israel’s recent announcement of its decision to confiscate the headquarters of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied East Jerusalem and convert it into a settlement site.
Al Jarwan affirmed the Council’s firm opposition, along with that of its members and partners, to any seizure of or assault on humanitarian premises within the Occupied Palestinian Territory, denouncing actions that endanger the lives of aid workers. He also condemned all attempts to alter the established historical and legal status of the Occupied Palestinian Territory.
Al Jarwan commended UNRWA’s efforts in providing relief and support to Palestinian refugees facing unbearable humanitarian conditions under occupation. He further urged the international community to mobilise regional and international efforts to advance the Middle East peace process and address illegal practices unde
rmining the two-state solution.
