Ghanem briefs EU representative on overall Palestinian developments

Ramallah-Ma’an- Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governor Dr. Laila Ghannam briefed the European Union Representative to the State of Palestine Alexander Stutzmann on the overall Palestinian developments, in light of the ongoing war of extermination and ethnic cleansing against our people in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and the escalation of attacks by the occupation army and settlers on our cities and villages.

During her reception of Stutzman and his accompanying delegation in her office today, Wednesday, Ghanem stressed the necessity of stopping the genocide, strengthening relief efforts, and providing basic materials to our people, especially in Gaza, noting that the horrific massacres committed daily are a natural result of the international silence on these crimes.

She spoke about the difficult conditions in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh Governorate as a result of the terrorist attacks of the settlers, the latest of which was targeting the village of “Umm Safa”, noting that one settler is making the lives of th
e residents of an entire village miserable and is working to seize vast areas of Jabal al-Ras in the village under the protection of the occupation army.

Ghanem reviewed the tragedy that prisoners face from torture, rape, killing and starvation inside prisons, and the continuation of arrest campaigns, pointing to the occupation’s arrest of comrade Abla Saadat, and the continuous abuse of our female prisoners, headed by prisoner Jihad Nakhleh, who is pregnant and the mother of four children.

She praised the efforts provided by the European Mission to the Palestinian people, stressing that our people, as they defend their rights guaranteed by international conventions, need more support, especially political support.

For his part, Stutzmann stressed the European Union’s continued support for Palestine politically and financially, and support for relief efforts for the Palestinian people, expressing the European Union’s concern about the escalation of settler attacks on Palestinian citizens and their property
, and stressing the European Union’s continued monitoring of these attacks and seeking to impose more sanctions on their perpetrators.
