German government condemns Israeli soldiers’ treatment of injured Palestinian in Jenin

The German government has condemned the way Israeli soldiers treated an injured Palestinian youth in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin by tying him to the bonnet of an Israeli army vehicle and called for “clarification and consequences.”

According to Deutsche Welle, a German Foreign Ministry spokesperson in Berlin said on Monday that the videos of the injured Palestinian tied to the bonnet of an Israeli army vehicle are “difficult to bear,” adding that the federal government is now waiting for “a rapid explanation, quick results, and appropriate consequences for those responsible.”

A video that has gone viral shows Israeli soldiers treating an injured Palestinian in the occupied West Bank city of Jenin by tying him to the bonnet of an Israeli army vehicle.

In a widely circulated video, a jeep with the man strapped to its bonnet can be seen passing between two ambulances.

The soldiers were accused of using the injured man as a “human shield” during the operation. The Israeli military confirmed the incid
ent on Sunday.
