Cairo: Minister of Defense and Military Production Abdel Meguid Sakr, who is also the Egyptian Armed Forces’ general commander, inspected Sunday one of the airbases, accompanied by Chief of Staff Ahmed Khalifa, branch commanders and other senior commanders.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit is in the framework of the field follow-up on combat preparedness. The general commander listened to a detailed presentation on combat missions and exercise activities and watched a fighter jet’s simulator session. Sakr later inspected a squadron as he witnessed preflight preparations and discussed with pilots the planning and mission accomplishment tactics.
Further, the defense minister attended a display of multirole combat aircraft and met fighter pilots stressing the General Command’s eagerness for qualifying them as well as the engineers and technicians at the Air Force. That is in addition to equipping them with integrated technical systems to guarantee their ability to secure Egypt’s airspace.
