Trade and Industry Minister Nivine Gamea issued a decision to have Ahmed El Sewedy, CEO of El Sewedy Electric, chair the Egyptian side at the Egyptian-Algerian Business Council.
In a statement on Sunday, Gamea said Sewedy will hold the position for the three years.
The decision was published in the official gazette.
The head of the Egyptian side in the council will be in charge of referring periodical reports every six months about the council’s activities and proposed future development plans.
She added that reforming the Egyptian side at the council falls within the framework of the ministry’s keenness on enhancing trade exchange, investment and industrial cooperation.
The council membership now comprises Sayed Farouk of Arab Contractors Company, Walid Lotfi of Petrojet, Khalil Ibrahim of Fresh Electric, along with other key figures.
