French envoy to Egypt hails distinguished relationship

French Ambassador in Cairo Marc Baréty has shed light on the depth of distinguished relations binding Egypt and France especially at the political level, pointing out to visits exchanged by the leaders of the two countries.

In statements to MENA Monday, the French diplomat described Egypt as a main partner to France due to its heavy weight at the political, historical, demographic and cultural levels.

He said the two countries enjoy “exceptional’ relations as President Adel Fattah El Sisi visited France several times while President Emmanuel Macron visited Egypt as well in addition to many visits exchanged by ministers from the two countries.

He said relations between the two countries are developing at the political and cultural levels quickly.

On the Alexandria Raml Tram project which had been visited by a delegation of the European Union recently, the French envoy described the project as very important saying it would contribute to facing pollution and emissions and would also facilitate the movement of the city’s commuters.

Baréty expressed happiness at his country’s support for transport projects in Egypt through the French Development Agency (AFD) including the Abu Qir train and Raml tram projects.
