Foreign ministry celebrates Int’l Francophonie Day

The Foreign Ministry launched on Sunday the annual celebrations marking the International Francophonie Day, which falls on March 20 every year.

The celebration was held at the premises of the Diplomatic Club in coordination with the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) as well as the ambassadors of Francophone countries accredited in Cairo.

The celebration saw the participation of Personal Representative of the President of the Republic to the Permanent Council of the International Organization of the Francophonie Fatema el Zahraa Etman, Deputy Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political and Regional Organizations Hatem Elatawy and Director of Francophonie affairs Amr Abdullah.

Delivering a speech during the celebration, Etman drew attention to the solid values on which the Francophonie’s march is based.

Egypt is keen on enhancing ties with the international organization, she added, pointing out to the speech delivered by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi at the Second Edition of the Scientific Francophonie Week, which was held in October.
