Foreign Ministry: 84 Jordanian pilgrims found among 106 missing

Amman: According to the database prepared by the Directorate of Operations since the start of reporting the loss and death of several Jordanian pilgrims, the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs announced the discovery of 84 Jordanian pilgrims out of 106 registered on the lists of missing Jordanian pilgrims. Additionally, 41 burial permits for Jordanian pilgrims were issued, allowing them to be buried in Mecca in accordance with their families’ wishes.

Head of the Directorate of Operations and Consular Affairs, Ambassador Sufian Qudah, said that the 84 pilgrims who were located are receiving the necessary medical attention from the concerned Saudi authorities, adding that their health status ranges from good to critical, and the Jordanian Consulate General team in Mecca is still offering consular services to pilgrims and keeping an eye on their situation with the relevant Saudi authorities.

Additionally, Ambassador Qudah stated that the ministry’s cell, which cooperates with the Jordanian Consulat
e General in Jeddah, the Jordanian Embassy in Riyadh, and the Jordanian Ministry of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs and Holy Places mission for the Hajj, is still searching for the 22 missing pilgrims. The ministry had previously stated that all pilgrims from the official Jordanian mission were safe, thanks to the support of the relevant Saudi authorities.

Ambassador Qudah renewed his call to all Jordanian citizens performing Hajj and their families, to call to request assistance, report missing persons, or arrange for the transfer of bodies in cases of death around the clock, through the following numbers:
