For the third day in a row, Israeli forces continue military operation in Tulkarm

TULKARM: The Israeli occupation forces continued their aggression on the city and camp of Tulkarm for the third consecutive day, causing widespread destruction to the infrastructure and citizens’ property.

WAFA correspondent said that the occupation forces carried out bombing operations inside the camp’s neighborhoods and burned tarpaulins, which led to a number of citizens’ homes catching fire and burning in Al-Swalmeh neighborhood, resulting in several citizens suffocating.

The Palestinian Red Crescent said that eight people suffocated as a result of the fires caused by the occupation in the camp, adding that they were provided with first aid.

WAFA correspondent added that the occupation bulldozers continued to bulldoze and destroy the infrastructure and citizens’ property in the camp, causing extensive damage and destruction, as no street or alley was left without destruction.

The occupation forces pushed more of their vehicles into the city and its camp, from the direction of Nitzanoz gate west of Tul
karm, and deployed snipers inside the tall buildings that reveal the camp, while reconnaissance aircraft continued to fly at a low altitude.

The occupation soldiers raided the homes of civilians in Balawneh neighborhood, searched them, and subjected their residents to investigation and interrogation.

In the city of Tulkarm, the occupation bulldozers closed roads and streets leading to Tulkarm camp with earth mounds after bulldozing them, in addition to bulldozing and vandalizing in the eastern neighborhood and the western cemetery street, and the street leading to the Martyr Thabet Hospital, and destroying vegetable stalls and citizens’ property and uprooting trees.

The occupation vehicles were also deployed in the streets of the city and were stationed in a number of them, including Al-Haddadeen Street, the Government Hospital Street, the eastern and southern neighborhoods, the old Education and Training Junction, and Al-Jaroun Roundabout Street leading to Shuwaika suburb, while firing bullets randomly.

It also continued its siege of Al-Israa Specialized Hospital and the Martyr Thabet Thabet Governmental Hospital, and obstructed the work of ambulances, searched them, and interrogated their crews.

This aggression resulted in the killing of three young men by the occupation’s bullets and shells yesterday, including a child, all from Tulkarm camp.

They were identified as Mohammad Abdullah Muhammad Kanaan, 15, as well as Rami Hatem Muhammad Abbas, and Nour Hassan Zait, whose bodies were withheld by Israeli forces.

The head of the Popular Committee of Tulkarm camp, Faisal Salama, described the camp as a disaster area due to the repeated occupation aggression and the tight siege for the third day, as the occupation destroyed the infrastructure and electricity, water, and sewage networks, homes and facilities, in addition to the humanitarian and psychological situation of patients, children, women, and the elderly.

He called for providing international protection for the residents of the camp, and for immediate
action to stop the aggression, the war of extermination, systematic displacement, and organized terrorism.

In a related context, the occupation forces detained this morning four people from the towns of Bal’a, east of Tulkarm, and Kafr Jamal, south of the city, after raiding their homes, searching them, and vandalizing their contents.

The occupation forces continued to close the two gates of the Jabara Bridge at the southern entrance to the city for the third consecutive day, and prevented vehicles from passing, noting that this road connects Tulkarm to the villages of al-Kafriyat and Qalqilya Governorate.

The number of Palestinians killed by Israeli forces since the beginning of the aggression at dawn on Wednesday has risen to 34, including 19 in Jenin, 8 in Tulkarm, 4 in Tubas, and 3 in Hebron, bringing the death toll in the West Bank since October 7, 2023 to 685.
