For the eighth day in a row, Palestinian farmers from the village of Akaba, north of Tulkarm, have been denied the right to reach their lands beyond the separation wall after the Israeli occupation forces continue to close the gate in the separation barrier, according to the head of Akaba Village Council, Tayseer Amarneh. He told WAFA that the occupation forces closed the gate a week ago, without giving a reason, and prevented workers and farmers who depend for their living on agriculture from reaching their lands behind the barrier, which exacerbated their suffering, especially with the arrival of olive harvest season. He explained that the apartheid barrier devoured 2,500 dunums of village land, while the occupation forces imposed unreasonable restrictions on farmers to access their lands. He said the occupation forces placed concrete slabs and cement cubes along the barrier from Akaba to the neighboring town of Qaffin last year.
