ABU DHABI: The Federal National Council held its tenth meeting of the first regular session of the eighteenth legislative term under the chairmanship of Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council (FNC), today.
The session was held in the presence of H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior; Abdul Rahman bin Mohammad bin Nasser Al Owais, Minister of Health and Prevention and Minister of State for Federal National Council Affairs; and Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar, Minister of Human Resources and Emiratisation.
The session discussed the Ministry of Interior’s policy on combating drugs.
During the discussion, H.H. Lt. Heavenly laws unanimously agree on the necessity of protecting and preserving human life, as the mind is a divine blessing that distinguishes
humans from other creatures.”
His Highness emphasised that humans are the cornerstone and driving force of development, and therefore, caring for them has been and will always be a top priority of “our wise leadership since the foundation of the United Arab Emirates until today. This is reflected in the statement of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan where His Highness said: ‘The UAE citizen is the true wealth of the nation.’ To preserve this human being psychologically, mentally, and socially, it falls upon all of us, including legislative and executive authorities, to make every effort to reduce any harm that may threaten all segments of society.”
In response to FNC’s questions, Dr. Abdulrahman Al Awar stated that the UAE government is committed to supporting People of Determination and ensuring their rights at all social, health, educational, and professional levels.
He further elaborated on the efforts undertaken to support working mothers and guardians in the private sector who
have children with disabilities, focusing on economic empowerment and enhancing the active participation of working mothers.
