Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head to Turkey and Syria Monday morning, Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in a statement.
The trip aims to show solidarity with the two countries and their brotherly peoples after the devastating earthquake that hit Syria and Turkey earlier this month, the statement read.
The foreign minister will reiterate Egypt’s permanent preparedness to deliver relief to the afflicted areas of both nations, the spokesman said.
He added that Egypt’s government and people cannot fail to support their brothers.
The 7.8-magnitude quake that struck on February 6 killed more than 46,000 people in both countries.
