Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty said Sunday Egypt will continue to play its role in helping Sudanese people to overcome the current crisis in a way that preserves Sudan’s unity and territorial integrity, supports state institutions, and meets the aspirations of the Sudanese people.
This came during a meeting held by the Foreign Minister with the Chairman of the Transitional Sovereignty Council of Sudan Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, on the sidelines of the Foreign Minister’s visit to Kigali to attend the inauguration ceremony of Rwandan President Paul Kagame.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs was keen to stress Egypt’s keenness to respond to any humanitarian and relief needs from Sudan.
Spokesperson Ahmed Abu Zeid said the meeting discussed efforts aimed at establishing peace and stability in Sudan.
For his part, al-Burhan was keen to convey his greetings and appreciation to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi.
He thanked Egypt for providing care, support and protection to the Sudanese people.
