FM Reaffirms Egypt’s Call for Upholding Syria’s Sovereignty


CAIRO: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has reiterated Egypt’s call for respecting Syria’s sovereignty and the unity and integrity of its territories. This reaffirmation came during a phone conversation with Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad Mohamed Ali Nafti, where they discussed developments in the Syrian situation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two ministers emphasized the importance of regional and international efforts to restore stability across Syrian territories, focusing on addressing the situation in a manner that prioritizes the interests of the Syrian people and preserves their unity. In the conversation, Abdelatty stressed the necessity of initiating a comprehensive national political process in Syria, free from external influences or directives.

Abdelatty further advocated for respecting Syria’s unity and stability, urging an inclusive approach that incorporates all national forces within the
country. The dialogue between Abdelatty and Nafti highlighted their mutual understanding and agreement on foundational principles aimed at achieving stability in Syria.
