Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said the only way to guarantee stability in the Middle East is to reach a comprehensive and just political settlement of the Palestinian issue in accordance with international legitimacy references, and establish a Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Abdelatty made the remarks during his expanded meeting on Thursday 5/9/2024 with the ambassadors of some Arab states to Egypt in the presence of Khaled el Anany, Egypt’s nominee for the post of director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

Abdelatty’s meeting with the Arab ambassadors, his first-ever with ambassadors to Egypt, confirms Cairo’s Arab role as well as fraternal relations and strong historical ties with all sisterly Arab states, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

This comes in light of the Arab countries’ common interest in preserving the security and stabili
ty of the Arab world, and achieving Arab peoples’ aspirations for prosperity, the spokesman added.

During the meeting, the foreign minister reviewed the grave and unprecedented challenges currently facing the Arab world, pointing out to the various dangers that have emerged in the region in recent years and now pose a threat to nation-states.

Abdelatty said the only way to confront those common challenges is to work on preserving the nation-states and their institutions, intensify coordination and cooperation among all Arab countries at the bilateral level and through collective Arab action, as well as enhancing the concept of Arab national security.

The foreign minister also underscored Egypt’s keenness to bolster its relations with all Arab countries by advancing economic and investment cooperation in a way that serves the common interests of Egypt and Arab countries at the bilateral and collective levels.

In this regard, he called on the Arab ambassadors to explore promising investment opportunities in
the Egyptian market and work on propelling trade exchange with Egypt.
