FM Meets His Mauritanian Counterpart


Cairo: Ahead of the Emergency Arab Summit on Gaza to take place in Cairo on Tuesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Immigration Badr Abdelatty held a series of meetings with his Mauritanian counterpart, Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug. The meeting focused on reinforcing collaboration in different sectors, as the former expressed aspiration to convene a supreme joint committee to agree on certain plans, mainly concerning trade and economic aspects. The Egyptian minister further commended the current coordination with Mauritania on Arab and African affairs of mutual interest.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions between the two ministers emphasized the importance of mutual cooperation in addressing regional challenges and enhancing bilateral relations. The meeting also highlighted the significance of maintaining strong ties between Egypt and Mauritania, particularly in the context of the upcoming summit, which is expected to address pressing issues in the Gaza region.



The Egyptian Foreign Minister’s initiative to establish a supreme joint committee indicates a proactive approach towards fostering deeper economic and trade relations. This move is anticipated to pave the way for strategic partnerships and collaborations that could benefit both nations economically and politically.
