FM Meets Egyptian Community Leaders in China at the Outset of His Visit to Beijing


BEIJING: Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, initiated his official visit to Beijing by engaging with prominent members of the Egyptian community in China on Thursday, December 12. This meeting underscores the ministry’s continued commitment to maintaining direct communication with Egyptian communities worldwide and addressing their needs.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty reaffirmed the Foreign Ministry’s dedication to providing comprehensive care to Egyptians living abroad. This includes offering consular services and support through diplomatic channels. He emphasized the pride Egypt takes in its expatriate communities, acknowledging their role in bolstering relationships with various countries, which aids in strengthening governmental and popular ties, especially with major economic partners like China.

Minister Abdelatty discussed the ministry’s ongoing initiatives to cater to the needs of Egyptians abroad, providing services that enhance their
connection to their homeland. He also encouraged the Egyptian community in Beijing to engage in the upcoming ‘Egyptians Abroad Conference,’ slated for August 2025. This event, expected to draw participation from several ministers, aims to foster dialogue between Egyptian communities abroad and service-oriented ministries.

The meeting concluded with Minister Abdelatty interacting with the community members, listening to their feedback and suggestions. He highlighted the ministry’s efforts to improve consular services by digitizing them and leveraging modern technology to ensure quality and efficient service delivery in line with the community’s needs.
