Cairo: Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, on the sidelines of the Cairo Ministerial Conference to Enhance the Humanitarian Response in Gaza. Both diplomats discussed efforts to provide urgent humanitarian support to the Palestinian people in light of the catastrophic humanitarian conditions in the Gaza Strip, and the need to enhance international coordination to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.
According to State Information Service Egypt, they also exchanged views on current developments in the Middle East, emphasizing the importance of reaching an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the concerted international efforts to achieve peace and stability in the region.
The meeting also covered the distinguished bilateral relations between Egypt and Brazil, which are witnessing increasing development. This was reflected in the meeting of the President of the Republic with Brazilian President Lula da Silva in November 2024, on the sidelines of the G20
Summit, and the signing of the “Strategic Partnership” document between the two countries.
The two ministers expressed their aspiration to expand the scope of bilateral cooperation in various fields and explore new opportunities that serve the interests of the two friendly countries and peoples, in addition to tripartite cooperation in Africa.
