Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, on Tuesday made a phone call with Lebanese counterpart , Abdallah Bou Habib.
During the call, Safadi stressed Jordan’s solidarity with Lebanon to safeguard its security and the safety of its citizens and institutions, adding that the Kingdom rejects any aggression against Lebanon and its sovereignty.
Safadi also warned of the serious consequences of any Israeli escalation against Lebanon on the region’s security and stability.
Safadi stressed the need to orchestrate all efforts to de-escalate and protect the region from the risk of slipping into a regional war, calling on adhering to Security Council Resolution 1701.
Safadi stressed that the continuation of the Israeli aggression on Gaza exposes the entire region to the risk of expanding the conflict.
On this context, he called on launching an “effective” international movement aimed to halt the aggression and oblige Israel to respect international law and international
legitimacy resolutions.
For his part, Bou Habib stressed that his country values Jordan’s “historic” positions in supporting Lebanon, its security and stability.
