FM Holds Phone Call with Botswana’s Counterpart to Strengthen Bilateral Ties


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with Botswana’s Foreign Minister Phenyo Butale for talks on promoting bilateral relations and maintaining coordination on various regional issues of mutual interest.



According to State Information Service Egypt, during the phone conversation, Abdelatty congratulated Butale on assuming his new post and the success of his country in holding general elections last October. He lauded the democratic process in Botswana and wished all success and prosperity for its government and people.



Abdelatty further affirmed Egypt’s keenness on strengthening ties with Botswana in numerous spheres, especially the economic one. The two sides also discussed African issues, affirming the importance of intensifying efforts to support security and development in the continent.



They further emphasized the importance of continuing coordination in the international forums to ensure promoting African interests.
