Safadi also stressed the need to recognize the Palestinian state and accept it as a full member of the United Nations.

Safadi and his counterparts, whom he met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, discussed bilateral relations and ways to develop them in various fields.

tion of civilians, and deliver adequate and sustainable humanitarian aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

Furthermore, Safadi and Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen held a meeting on the need to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, and the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, as a first step to avoid the expansion of the conflict regionally.

Additionally, the foreign minister meeting with his Polish counterpart, Radoslaw Sikorski, covered bilateral relations and the common keenness to develop them in various fields.

During the meeting, the two ministers discussed several regional and international issues, primarily efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on
the Gaza Strip and Lebanon, the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, and ensuring the delivery of adequate and sustainable aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip.

Safadi also met with UN High Commissioner for Refugees Filippo Grandi and discussed programs to support Syrian refugees and host communities, the need to take practical steps to create the necessary conditions for the voluntary return of Syrian refugees, and the need to provide international support for them and host countries.

Safadi warned of the seriousness of the decline in international support for Syrian refugees and Jordan’s refusal to bear additional burdens, as providing a decent life for refugees is a shared international responsibility, stressing that the solution to the refugee crisis lies in their return to their homeland, and until then, the international community must assume its full responsibility.

Safadi held extensive talks with ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan, which emphasized the importance of applying international law and
international humanitarian law without selectivity and warning against double standards in their application.

The talks also addressed the need to urge the international community and the Security Council to assume their responsibilities and hold Israel responsible for any escalation and non-compliance with international laws and standards.
