FM Holds Contacts With His Saudi, UAE, Turkish Counterparts To Contain Regional Tension


Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty made phone contacts with his Saudi, UAE and Turkish counterparts Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed and Hakan Fidan respectively on ways of coordinating and intensifying efforts to contain current regional tension, said Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid.

In statements on Wednesday14/8/2024, the spokesman added that the foreign minister’s consultations with his counterparts dealt with the situation in Sudan and ongoing regional and international mediation efforts to reach a ceasefire and ensure the delivery of humanitarian assistance.

The talks tackled as well the latest developments in the Horn of Africa region and efforts aimed at stopping the war in the Gaza Strip and reach a deal that allows for the ceasefire and exchange of prisoners and hostages, said Abu Zeid.
