Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi, in a phone call on Wednesday discussed bilateral relations, and regional and international developments with with Finland’s Minister for Foreign Affairs Elina Valtonen. Safadi and Valtonen affirmed joint keenness to enhance cooperation between the two countries in all fields, bilaterally and within the framework of partnership with the European Union. The Palestinian cause topped the talks held by the two ministers, in addition to efforts to resolve regional crises, especially efforts to find a political solution to the Syrian crisis. The two ministers also discussed the Ukrainian crisis and its repercussions. Safadi expressed appreciation for Finland’s support to the UNRWA and the Jordan response plan to the Syrian crisis. For her part, the Finnish minister lauded Jordan’s key role under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah, in efforts to resolve crises, counter regional challenges, and enhance security, stability and peace in the region. The two ministers agreed to continue consultation and coordination to serve the interests of the two countries.
