Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, conducted phone calls on November 28, 2024, with several Lebanese political figures, including Mr. Samir Geagea of the Lebanese Forces Party, Mr. Samy Gemayel of the Kataeb Party, Mr. Suleiman Frangieh of the Marada Movement, and Mr. Gebran Bassil of the Free Patriotic Movement.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Abdelatty conveyed Egypt’s hopes that the current ceasefire agreement will serve as a stepping stone toward a new era for Lebanon. He emphasized the importance of strengthening national institutions, particularly the Lebanese army, to ensure security and stability while maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to supporting any measures that would uphold the stability of Lebanese state institutions.
In response, the Lebanese political leaders expressed their sincere gratitude for Egypt’s unwavering support during both political
and humanitarian crises. They acknowledged Egypt’s solidarity with Lebanon during these challenging times and pledged to work tirelessly to secure peace and stability across the nation, aligning with the aspirations of the Lebanese people.
