Riyadh: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met on Sunday 10/11/2024 with Nigerian Foreign Minister Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, on the sidelines of the Preparatory Ministerial Meeting for the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh, to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields. Abdelatty said Egypt is willing to provide the necessary support for Nigeria to combat terrorism and extremism, amid the escalating security threats in the Sahel Region.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting between the two foreign ministers focused on strengthening ties between Egypt and Nigeria, particularly in the realm of security cooperation. Abdelatty emphasized Egypt’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria in addressing the challenges posed by terrorism and extremism, which continue to affect the stability of the Sahel Region.
Both ministers underscored the importance of regional collaboration to effectively tackle the growing threats in the area. They dis
cussed potential strategies and initiatives that could be implemented to enhance security and stability in the region. The discussions also highlighted the necessity of intelligence sharing and coordinated efforts to prevent the spread of extremist ideologies.
