Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry had talks on Saturday 21/01/2023 with the newly-formed board of the Egyptian Council for Foreign Affairs (ECFA) which is chaired by former foreign minister Mohamed Orabi.
This falls within the framework of the Foreign Ministry’s keenness on interacting with research and thought centers and exchanging views on various issues related to foreign policies and international affairs.
The two-hour meeting tackled Egypt’s relations with its strategic partners, conditions in Africa and the Ethiopian dam problem, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.
The talks also addressed Egypt’s relations with neighboring countries and the role of Egyptian diplomacy in supporting the state’s goals in various political, economic and cultural domains.
The conferees underlined the key role played by research centers in supporting the decision-making process.
They stressed the importance of maintaining communication channels with thought and research centers and think tanks to magnify the benefit of scientific and practical experience to support foreign policy goals and protect national interests.
At the end of the meeting, the foreign minister had a photo-opportunity with the council board.
