FM Discusses with Jordanian Counterpart Ongoing Arrangements for Emergency Arab Summit


Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty discussed Monday, with his Jordanian opposite number Ayman Safadi ongoing arrangements for the emergency Arab summit set to be held Tuesday in Cairo. The two sides categorically rejected the displacement of Palestinians from their homeland and stressed the importance of regional and international solidarity to ensure the implementation of all stages of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, as a first step towards setting a clear political path aimed at reaching a radical and final settlement to the Palestinian problem, based on the two-state solution and the establishment of a Palestinian state in accordance with the relevant international references and resolutions.



According to State Information Service Egypt, the discussions between the Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers focused on the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. Both ministers emphasized the importance of a concerted effort by the international community to address the humanitarian crisis in the region and to support the peace process.



The ministers also highlighted the significance of the upcoming Arab summit as a platform to unify Arab positions and to reinforce collective efforts towards a sustainable peace agreement. They reiterated the urgency of addressing the Palestinian issue and the necessity of upholding international laws and agreements to achieve lasting stability in the Middle East.
