Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty met with the UN Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, to discuss preparations for the upcoming Gaza reconstruction conference.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference is being organized by Egypt in cooperation with the UN, international partners, and financial institutions. The primary aim is to accelerate recovery efforts in Gaza, with a focus on early recovery and reconstruction projects.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the international alliance for the implementation of the two-state solution in Cairo. During the discussions, Abdelatty emphasized the urgency of launching recovery initiatives and shared Egypt’s detailed timeline and phased approach to the Gaza recovery plan.

Furthermore, the minister took the opportunity to listen to Kaag’s assessment of the current humanitarian situation in Gaza and her recent international engagements. Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s commitment to ensuring safe and continuous access to humanitarian aid in Gaza.
