FM Confirms Egypt’s Rejection of Any Infringement on Lebanon’s Sovereignty.

Rome: Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdelatty, participated in a session titled ‘Dialogue for Peace’ at the Rome Mediterranean Dialogues Forum on Monday. During the session, Abdelatty detailed Egypt’s efforts in mediating with regional and international partners to secure an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing the dire humanitarian conditions faced by the residents due to Israeli aggression, the blockade of humanitarian aid, and the policy of starvation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Abdelatty reiterated Egypt’s staunch opposition to displacing Palestinians from their land. He underscored the importance of empowering the Palestinian Authority to regain its status in the Gaza Strip, particularly regarding humanitarian activities, and cautioned against any attempts to isolate the Gaza Strip from other Palestinian territories.

In his address, the Foreign Minister emphasized Egypt’s unwavering support for Lebanon, both politically and humanitarianly, affirming Egypt’s
rejection of any violation of Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity. He highlighted the Lebanese people’s right to elect their president without external interference and discussed Egyptian efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Lebanon.

Furthermore, Abdelatty addressed developments concerning the Red Sea, advocating for a comprehensive approach that includes ending the conflict in Gaza and reducing tensions, while noting the economic impacts on Egypt due to instability in the Red Sea.

Concluding his participation, Abdelatty asserted that military solutions have consistently failed to deliver peace and stability in the region, advocating for diplomatic solutions as essential. He emphasized addressing the root causes of regional instability, particularly the need to end the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.
