Cairo: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Badr Abdelatty on Saturday emphasized the importance of mobilizing international support to implement the Gaza Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development Plan. Abdelatty made the remarks during a meeting with Palestinian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Mustafa on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC-CFM).
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting tackled the outcomes of the extraordinary Arab Summit and the Gaza plan for Early Recovery, Reconstruction, and Development that was endorsed by the Arab Summit and the OIC-CFM. The meeting also took up arrangements for hosting the Gaza Reconstruction Conference by Egypt, in collaboration with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.
The Palestinian prime minister commended the efforts of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to host the Arab Summit in Cairo, as well as the support provided by Egypt to back the Palestinian issue. Mustafa expressed his anticipation for the rebuilding conference, with a view to contributing to securing finance for the implementation of the Arab reconstruction and early recovery plan.
He also acknowledged Egyptian efforts to ensure the consolidation of the three-phased ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
