Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry asserted Egypt is always backing Tunisia in all steps the country takes to achieve stability and development and fulfill the aspirations of its people.
The foreign minister’s remarks came during talks with Tunisian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Tunisians Abroad Othman Jerandi Monday.
The talks convened as part of strong fraternal ties between the two countries.
Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu-Zeid said Shoukry and Jerandi reviewed ways of boosting relations for the benefit of the two nations.
Abu-Zeid added that the two ministers tackled a raft of issues and topics on the agenda of the 158th ordinary session of the Arab League Council, that will be held at the AL’s premises Tuesday at the ministerial level.
The Egyptian and Tunisian officials talked about ways of supporting work mechanisms and joint Arab action and cooperation, according to the spokesman.
Shoukry and his Tunisian counterpart underscored- at the end of the meeting- the importance of maintaining bilateral consultations on all fronts in the phase to come.
