DUBAI: The inaugural global summit of the International Federation of Intensive Care and Critical Care is set to commence in Dubai on Friday at the Intercontinental Festival City Hotel, coinciding with the 20th UAE Conference. Representatives from 45 countries worldwide will convene, alongside over 2,200 doctors and nurses, to delve into the latest advancements in intensive care medicine and cutting-edge technologies employed in artificial respiration.
Dr. Hussain Nasser Al Rahma, Consultant in Emergency Medicine and Conference Chairman, as well as President of the Arab International Society of Intensive Care Medicine and Vice President of the Global Network of Emergency Medicine, outlined the agenda for the conferences.
Topics will encompass lectures on septicemia, infections in intensive care units, kidney diseases and acute kidney injuries, artificial ventilation, acute respiratory distress syndrome, surgical procedures, anaesthesia and pain management, nutrition for the elderly, cardiopulmonary resuscit
ation, infection monitoring, and an overview of critical care physicians’ experiences and research findings.
Additionally, discussions will cover accidents, along with the latest and most effective practices and treatment protocols developed since the onset of the pandemic.
Over the course of three days, 142 international speakers, 69 regional speakers, in addition to 90 speakers from within the country, will present their latest scientific papers, 8 scientific workshops and 5 training courses will be organized, and a number of qualitative agreements will be signed with a number of international bodies that will benefit all parties.
The Ministry of Health and Prevention will hold a special workshop on brain death through which direct guidance and guidance will be provided to declare brain death with neurological criteria, to improve practices related to the declaration of brain death. 40 international and local companies specializing in critical care devices and ventilators will showcase the latest discove
ries and products in the field of critical care medicine.
