Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait said Friday 03/06/2022 that Egypt is keen to reach a unified vision to protect African economies from global shocks that have intensified with the outbreak of war in Europe in wake of the severe repercussions of the coronavirus pandemic, including the inflationary wave resulting from the disruption of supply chains and the rise in shipping costs.
During his meeting with Senegalese Minister of the Economy, Planning and Cooperation Amadou Hott, Maait underlined the need to improve the competitive capabilities of African economies, attract investment opportunities, remove any obstacles, and create a united African market for goods and services, in a way that helps increase African contributions to global supply and production chains.
The African stance in financing the fight against climate change should be coordinated to help the continent deal positively and flexibly with its environmental and economic consequences, he added.
