Finance min. to review “participatory budgeting” mechanisms in Fayyoum Saturday

Finance Minister Mohamed Maait will review on Saturday the success story of applying the Egyptian model of “participatory budgeting” in Fayyoum governorate.

The “participatory budgeting” aims to enhance societal participation in the State’s financial policy and the principles of transparency, governance and societal communication.

The Finance Ministry is keen on expanding the implementation of the “participatory budgeting” initiative nationwide in order to enable citizens to effectively contribute to preparing the state’s general budget at the local level.

During tomorrow’s proceeding, a documentary film about “participatory budgeting” will be shown, according to a statement issued by the Finance Ministry.

Also, a video will be shown about the ministry’s efforts in increasing societal participation, in a bid to enhancing the citizen’s contributions to setting priorities, added the statement.
