Final-year high school exams start nationwide

Final-year “Thanaweya Amma” (high school grade 12) exams started on Monday across Egypt’s governorates, using the new system of bubble sheet for the second time.

The exams will last till July 21. The students today take their exams in the subjects whose scores are not added to the Grade Point Average (GPA).

The students will be handed the questions booklet and a bubble sheet with multiple choice questions, where they are allowed to fill in their answers using a pencil first, and then when they are sure about the answers, they can shade the answers using a pen.

There will be no essay questions, thus allowing a fully electronic grading system.

The exams are unified, but there will be four different forms of each exam, in which the questions will be arranged differently to prevent cheating.

No electronic devices, including cell phones, will be allowed inside the exam committees.

In statements, Director of the Education Directorate in Aswan Abdel Karim Lotfy said that 27 rest areas were allocated for exams invigilators.
