Fill rate of dams reaches 29.8% on Jan.9 (ONAGRI)


The fill rate of dams in Tunisia reached 29.8% on January 9, data published Wednesday by the National Observatory of Agriculture (French: ONAGRI) show.

The fill rates of various dams are as follow: Bouhartema (39%), Sidi El Barrak (35%), Sejnane (32%), Sidi Salem and Bir Mcherga (31%), Siliana (25%), Sidi Saad (24%), Joumine (19%), Mallegue (12%) and Nebhana (5%).

Water reserves in these dams rose by 45.224 million m3 to 689.261 million m3 against 644.037 million m3 on the same date last year.

Average water resources over the past 3 years amount to 898.756 million m3, down 209.4 million m3.

ONAGRI data showed 5.545 million m3 of water were withdrawn and used on January 9, while water inflows in dams stood at 40.650 million m3.
