Senate President, Faisal Fayez, said His Majesty King Abdullah II’s speech during 79th UNGA session expresses the “conscience of Jordanians and constitutes a clear message to the entire world.”
According to a Senate statement on Wednesday, Fayez pointed to His Majesty’s keenness on upholding Jordan’s unwavering principles and protecting its stability from any threats that affect national security.
Fayez noted His Majesty’s stance to reject displacement of Palestinians from their homeland as a war crime.
Jordan, he said, will always remain the closest supporter to Palestine and will maintain its positions in support of the Palestinian people, affirming its rejection of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.
Fayez pointed out that Jordan will continue its efforts at various levels and international platforms to establish an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and work to end the Israeli occupation that has lasted for decades.
Fayez also referred to the King’s continued pledge t
o defend the Palestinian cause and people’s right to freedom and independence, which remained His Majesty’s unwavering priority, whether in international forums, or in His Majesty’s meetings with world leaders and heads of state.
