FASRC convenes in Amman to push future pan-Arab scientific cooperation

Secretaries of the specialized scientific associations in the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils (FASRC) on Tuesday held their annual meeting in Amman to discuss their future plans.

At the opening meeting, FASRC Secretary-General, Dr. Abdelmajid Benamara, referred to “Arab House of Wisdom,” one of the programs of the federation’s executive plan, aimed to assist decision makers in the Arab countries to support and develop science, technology and innovation policies.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of Jordan’s Higher Council for Science and Technology (HCST), Dr. Mashhour Rifai, said FASRC helped achieved unity at the Arab level and has successfully created added value by contributing to establish a “lucrative” environment for science and innovation, support role of scientific research in formulate pan-Arab public policies and back Arab and international scientific cooperation.

The FASRC, which brings under its umbrella 18 scientific associations in 13 Arab countries, is a joint organization of the
Arab League and enjoys necessary independence to achieve its goals and carry out its tasks.
