Artificial intelligence tools can in no way pose a threat to daily life. On the contrary, they can boost the job market and create new opportunities, two artificial intelligence experts told TAP on Wednesday.

The experts were speaking in the margins of the third media conference organised by the Arab States Broadcasting Union (ASBU) under the theme “Media in the Artificial Intelligence Era: Opportunities and Challenges.”

The two experts called on journalists and stakeholders in the media sector to be vigilant about this technological shift and to uncover its opportunities in the service of high-quality media content.

CEO of the Artificial Intelligence Journalism for Research and Forecasting (AIJRF) Mohamed Abdulzaher emphasised the key role of artificial intelligence in the media industry, noting that hardware and software technologies have gained significant ground in the media industry for over a decade.

AI tools have proven remarkably useful, particularly in production and management, media content an
alysis, and the resulting comments.

AI cannot pose a threat to the future of humanity, he added. This technology is nothing more than a human invention in the service of everyone’s interest.

It is enough to embrace, master, and control its use to derive the greatest benefit, he assured, citing the application of AI in the fields of content industry, healthcare, banking, or government services.

The expert also stated that artificial intelligence, since its inception, has facilitated the creation of more than 12 new job sectors and has enabled significant investments and financial returns.

On his part, founding president of the company “World Screen Marketing and Media Production” Riad Kamal Nejm stated that artificial intelligence, while posing challenges, also offers a wide range of opportunities in the Arab world if handled skilfully.

ifying fraudulent and incorrect media content, especially that spread through social media.

The ASBU conference will continue on January 17 and 18. Speakers will debate several issues related to using AI in the creation of media content, the perspectives and opportunities offered by this technology in media professions, as well as the technical and technological aspects related to the use of AI.

The conference will also address the ethical and legal considerations associated with this technology.

Amman: The analysis of maps and numerical models at the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) has suggested the influx of a warm air mass coming from the Arabian Peninsula, which tends to be slightly warm, and will lead to a rise in temperatures in the coming days to exceed their usual rates by about 6 to 7 degrees Celsius.

JMD Director Raed Al Khattab, said that he expects Amman to record a maximum temperature between 19 and 20 degrees Celsius between Thursday and Monday, while temperatures in Aqaba are expected to range between 25 and 28 degrees Celsius.

He added that temperatures will return to decline on Tuesday, bringing back cold weather, as the forecasting center is currently closely monitoring a rainy weather condition on Tuesday.

Al Khattab urged citizens not to pay attention to any bulletins issued here or there that may confuse them, noting that the JMD works around the clock throughout the week, and citizens can inquire about the weather conditions at any time throughout the week, including we
ekends and religious and official holidays, or via the JMD’s official website and social media pages “Facebook, Instagram and YouTube,” where citizens are provided with accurate information that does not carry exaggeration.
