CAIRO: The 80th meeting of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs discussed ways to provide aid to Lebanon and Palestine in light of ongoing Israeli attacks.
Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh, Assistant Secretary-General and Head of Social Affairs Sector at the League of Arab States, said that today’s meeting, held at the Arab League headquarters, addressed the worsening social and humanitarian conditions in both countries due to Israeli violations of international law, which have led to civilian casualties, including people with disabilities.
The Executive Bureau also reviewed various social and developmental initiatives across Arab states, including preparations for the upcoming Arab Summit and the Global Disability Summit scheduled for 2025.
Ambassador Dr.Abu Ghazaleh praised the Arab League’s efforts to support the elderly on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons, reaffirming the ongoing implementation of the Arab Strategy for Older Persons, which was a
pproved at the Arab Summit in Tunisia.
