EU provides €100 million to support Egypt

The European Union will provide €100 million to support Egypt in response to rising food prices due to Russia’s war on Ukraine, Head of the European Union Delegation to Egypt Christian Berger announced.

“The EU stands by its partners in these difficult times of economic ordeal caused by the Russian aggression,” the European Union Delegation to Egypt said on its official Twitter account on Wednesday.

In the same regard, EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Olivér Várhelyi said Egypt can count on €100 million of assistance “in its role as a regional food hub”.
