EU issues statement against incitement to religious hatred

The EU rejected on Wednesday incitement to religious hatred after attacks on Quran in Sweden and Denmark, according to Euronews. The EU High Representative for Foreign Relations and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, stated: “The European Union renews its strong and firm rejection of all forms of practices that incite religious hatred,” considering that “the practices of some people in Europe offend many of Muslims.” He added that “respect for religious communities is part of the values of the European Union and that insulting the Holy Qur’an or any other holy book is a clear provocation.”
