ABU DHABI: The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has signed three memoranda of cooperation with the Family Development Foundation, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, and the Al-Fariya team affiliated with the Sandooq Al Watan at the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence.
This initiative aims to train the largest number of participants in the Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts across the country as part of the ‘Training for Empowerment” Initiative, focusing on the social and economic empowerment of artisans.
Through these memoranda a strategic partnership will be established among the signing parties to achieve their goals in qualifying, training, and empowering by increasing the number of artisans in Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts.
The signing ceremony was attended by Hamdan Musallam Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERC. The memoranda were signed by Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, ERC Secretary-General, Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Mohammed
Khalifa Al Kaabi, Secretary-General of the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, and others.
The memoranda outline the frameworks for cooperation between the authority and its partners in areas of mutual interest, leveraging the services provided by each party in their respective fields.
They aim to support artisanal and manual work, humanitarian initiatives, and enhance the delivery of social responsibility services. The initiative will promote the “Training for Empowerment” initiative across the seven emirates, incorporating various handicrafts into modern products that meet local and international market needs.
H.H. Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Wife of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in Al Dhafra Region, emphasised that the Al Ghadeer project is one of the pioneering Emirati initiatives in economic and social empowerment, resource sustainability, and community service.
In her statement delivered on her behalf by Rashid Mubarak Al Mansouri, durin
g the press conference held today at the ERC headquarters in Abu Dhabi, Sheikha Shamsa explained that the cooperation agreements establish a strategic partnership to support the Al Ghadeer project by expanding training opportunities for women artisans and increasing their presence nationwide.
She highlighted that this initiative will enhance coordination between the national authority and partners, reflecting their commitment to work together to benefit the community through Al Ghadeer UAE Crafts. These agreements signify progress in promoting social responsibility and fostering a stronger strategic partnership to further humanitarian and community efforts.
Mariam Mohammed Al Rumaithi said that working closely with ERC, the Emirates Council for Balanced Development, and the Al-Fariya team reflects FDF’s dedication to offering social services that cater to the community’s needs and the Foundation’s goals.
She added that this is in line with the vision and directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chai
rwoman of the General Women’s Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF).
